The “Once Upon a Time” theme continues and the current book of the week, The Three Little Pigs, inspired this week’s experiments. The 3 to 6 year old kindergarten children got to make their own playdough and incorporated sand, sticks and straw. Then they described each material’s unique texture and built houses out of the playdough. Another favourite activity was the “Huff and Puff” paintings. The children created beautiful designs by blowing paint around the paper. Everyone has also been enjoying the sunny new reading room and parents have been invited to come in and read a story before school if they wish. By combining our story-led theme with hands-on experiments, the children are relating images in their minds to the real world around them.
