The Nursery children’s artwork has just been unveiled in the front window of the schoolhouse at Freiestrasse 175. Over the past few weeks, the children have been reading The Three Little Pigs and they have been doing themed activities inspired by the book. To create the display, each child painted a pig or house using a sponge or paintbrush. For our youngest children, sponges are a great way to paint as they can easily grip the sponge as they enjoy a new sensorial experience. They are building the little muscles in their hands that will help get them ready to grip a paintbrush or pencil in the future. Through exploring the different textures, the children were naturally expanding their knowledge and understanding of the world.
